Larry Baer, Visionary For The San Francisco Giants

Larry Baer is a sports visionary who has successfully transformed several teams into world-class organizations that stay competitive year after year. Larry’s vision for his career led him to work hard and learn from others, eventually becoming Giants CEO, one of baseball’s most beloved franchises.

He is the president and the Giants CEO. He has been with the team since 1996 when he was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Larry’s vision for sports management has led to numerous innovations in the industry, including a new stadium that opened in 2000. The construction process began with the demolition of Candlestick Park on December 7th, 1999.

It is one of the most famous stadiums around. He has transformed baseball organizations, but he also had a vision for the San Francisco Giants new ballpark built on China Basin. Today it is known as “the jewel of baseball parks” with its breathtaking views and classic design, including light towers resembling those at old Candlestick Park – another one of his visions – where they played before moving to their current home at AT&T Park.

The SF Giants CEO has received numerous awards for his leadership abilities and contributions to the sports industry, including ESPN Sports Executive of the Year. He has also been named one of “The Most Influential People in Bay Area Sports” by NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk and is a member of Major League Baseball’s (MLB) three-person Revenue Sharing Definitions Committee.
